About The Position
This position is for a Part-Time Day Custodian at Magnolia School of Excellence, part of Charter Schools USA (CSUSA). CSUSA is a large education management company focused on providing academically rigorous education and preparing students for college or career. The custodian's role is to ensure that school facilities are kept clean, safe, and well-maintained, contributing to the mission of "Relentless Commitment to Student Greatness in School and in Life™."
Requirements
- Minimum high school graduate.
- Continuing education in construction or facilities related fields.
- A minimum of 1 year of janitorial trade experience.
- Must possess the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Clean assigned interior areas including hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, and multi-purpose rooms.
- Clean assigned exterior areas including the school building perimeter, parking lot, playground, and windows.
- Empty trash from all receptacles.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, equipment, window sills, and air vents.
- Clean and sterilize restroom facilities.
- Clean up bodily messes including vomit, feces, urine, and blood in accordance with training.
- Remove waste from the cafeteria during breakfast and lunch.
- Assist with cleaning cafeteria tables and floors.
- Sterilize high-use areas to reduce the spread of bacteria and harmful agents.
- Assist the Head Custodian with cleaning projects and tasks.
- Assist with the creation and monitoring of building preventative maintenance processes.
- Travel may be required to nearby schools or warehouse/storage.
- Participate in training programs to increase skill and proficiency.
- Review current developments and literature related to janitorial responsibilities.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and maximum safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as delegated by the Supervisor.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as company policies.
- Carry a hand-held radio while on school property if assigned by the Supervisor.
- Remain on school property from the beginning to the end of the workday, including lunch.
- Report and assist with all emergency situations as needed.
- Not leave campus to run errands without permission from the Facilities Supervisor.
