About The Position

As a Custodian, you’ll perform general custodial and sanitation duties to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. The position supports daily facility upkeep across office areas, restrooms, lunchrooms, locker rooms, hallways, and other facility spaces in accordance with company standards and safety requirements. This role works in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to loud noises, strong odors, temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, wet or humid conditions, hazardous chemicals, high or confined areas, extreme temperatures, and vibration throughout various facility areas. This role also regularly engages in prolonged standing, walking, communicating, and sensory tasks throughout each shift, while frequently handling objects, climbing, balancing, and performing various physical movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as part of job duties. The use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus is required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of experience working in a custodial or professional cleaning setting strongly preferred but willing to train – must be willing to learn, hungry for growth, & coachable.
  • Maintains a continuous learning mindset and adapts quickly to new equipment, processes, and roles.
  • Demonstrates strong technical ability with a digital-first approach, embracing new technologies and accurately entering data.
  • Communicates clearly with all levels of the organization, follows instructions (written/oral/diagram form), and completes necessary documentation independently in English.
  • Pays close attention to detail, prioritizing product quality, safety, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Physically capable of meeting job requirements and consistently brings a positive, team-focused attitude to work.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, technical proficiency, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills while working independently or collaboratively to ensure effective and logical decision-making in diverse situations.
  • Demonstrates the physical capability to bend frequently and lift heavy objects (up to 40 pounds), alongside proficiency in safely operating Powered Industrial Vehicles to support workplace operations.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain offices, restrooms, lunchrooms, locker rooms, hallways, and windows utilizing approved tools and cleaning solutions, ensuring a sanitary and welcoming environment.
  • Operate custodial equipment—including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and rug shampoo machines—while performing tasks such as stripping and waxing floors as needed (training will be provided).
  • Collect, transport, and properly dispose of waste; maintain orderly custodial closets and designated waste handling areas.
  • Prepare and restore rooms for meetings and events; conduct locker cleanouts, general facility cleaning, and execute assigned responsibilities efficiently.
  • Assist with snow removal and groundskeeping tasks while consistently promoting and adhering to all established safety protocols.
