About The Position

Campus Services Group is seeking a dedicated School Custodian to maintain a clean and safe environment at its facilities. The custodian works with staff and students to help the school meet high cleanliness standards. The position is at 586 River Ave, Bronx, NY, and is scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The offered pay rate is $18.00–$19.00 per hour.

The role includes completing janitorial and cleaning tasks in assigned areas, using protective gear, following safety and infection-control procedures, and responding to paging alerts and customer requests. The custodian must be able to perform routine tasks consistently and complete responsibilities independently after training.

A high school diploma or equivalent and prior custodial or janitorial experience in a school setting are preferred. Candidates must provide a criminal background check and comply with applicable COVID-19 vaccination policies. The role involves standing and walking for 6–8 hours daily, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, and working around food and cleaning products.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial and cleaning tasks in assigned areas according to quality standards and safety guidelines.
• Use protective gear during cleaning tasks.
• Complete cleaning assignments on schedule.
• Report equipment or cleaning-product needs and malfunctions to supervisors.
• Dust mop and damp mop floors in classrooms and common spaces.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, classrooms, and common areas.
• Remove trash, empty wastebaskets, and perform related assigned duties.
• Respond promptly to paging system alerts and customer requests.
• Follow infection-control procedures and universal precautions to maintain a sanitary environment.
