About The Position

Verde Clean is seeking a Lead Custodian to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming facilities. The role combines hands-on custodial work with supporting and supervising a small team. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., at $19 per hour, with an ASAP start.

Requirements

• Previous custodial experience; leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to lead and motivate a small team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout an entire shift on varied surfaces, climb stairs, and navigate multi-floor facilities as needed.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds unassisted and infrequently up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to push and maneuver loaded janitorial carts, trash receptacles, and supply carts weighing up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds infrequently.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and reach overhead up to 8 feet using a step stool or ladder, with repeated twisting and extension of arms and shoulders while cleaning.
• Ability to repeatedly grip, squeeze, and manipulate cleaning tools and equipment controls; manual dexterity sufficient to operate floor buffers, auto scrubbers, wet/dry vacuums, and steam cleaners.
• Ability to identify areas requiring cleaning, inspect surfaces for soil and residue, read product labels and safety data sheets, and distinguish colors sufficiently to sort waste streams and identify chemical products.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, including outdoor areas, and high-humidity areas such as restrooms and kitchens; tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and allergens while following PPE and safety protocols.
• Ability to maintain consistent physical output throughout the shift with standard rest breaks.

Responsibilities

• Cover assigned cleaning areas and assist with day-to-day custodial tasks.
• Support and supervise the team.
• Take incoming phone calls on the company-issued phone and follow up as needed.
• Respond to emails and coordinate tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for building occupants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
