About The Position

Verde Clean is hiring a Custodian to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming facilities. The role involves cleaning and maintaining floors and surfaces, disinfecting restrooms, restocking supplies, identifying and reporting safety hazards, and providing courteous assistance to staff, visitors, and team members. The posted schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.; a morning shift is also available. Pay is $17 per hour. The position involves continuous standing, walking, and movement across different surfaces; frequent lifting and maneuvering of cleaning supplies and carts; repeated bending, kneeling, reaching, and other physical activity; and possible exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, allergens, outdoor conditions, and humid areas. Employees must follow PPE and safety procedures and maintain physical output throughout the shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to use cleaning equipment and knowledge of safety protocols.
Ability to work independently and interact courteously with others.
Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout an entire shift across surfaces including concrete, tile, and carpet, and to climb stairs and navigate multi-floor facilities as needed.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds unassisted, and up to 35 pounds infrequently.
Ability to push and maneuver loaded janitorial carts, trash receptacles, and supply carts weighing up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds infrequently.
Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and reach overhead up to 8 feet using a step stool or ladder.
Ability to repeatedly twist and extend arms and shoulders while mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and wiping surfaces.
Ability to repeatedly grip, squeeze, and manipulate cleaning tools, spray bottles, brooms, mops, and equipment controls.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate floor buffers, auto scrubbers, wet/dry vacuums, and steam cleaners.
Ability to identify areas requiring cleaning, inspect surfaces for soil and residue, and read product labels and safety data sheets.
Ability to distinguish colors sufficiently to sort waste streams and identify chemical products.
Ability to work in varying temperatures, including outdoor areas and high-humidity areas such as restrooms and kitchens, and to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and allergens while following PPE and safety protocols.
Ability to maintain consistent physical output throughout the shift with standard rest breaks.
Ability to tolerate and work safely in high-temperature environments while following safety procedures and hydration guidelines.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of janitorial or cleaning experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Wipe down desks, tables, counters, and other surfaces.
Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
Restock restroom essentials, including toilet paper, soap, and paper towels, and ensure dispensers are filled.
Monitor supplies across the facility.
Identify safety hazards and report them to the supervisor.
Help maintain a secure and safe environment for building occupants.
Provide courteous, helpful assistance to staff, visitors, and fellow team members.
