About The Position

Verde Clean is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused Custodian to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming facilities. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and pay is $16.50 per hour. The role includes cleaning and maintaining facility surfaces and floors, disinfecting restrooms, restocking supplies, identifying and reporting hazards, and providing courteous assistance to staff, visitors, and coworkers.

The work may involve prolonged exposure to heat and varying weather conditions during summer months, as well as outdoor and high-humidity areas. Employees are expected to follow safety procedures, hydration guidelines, and PPE protocols. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and knowledge of safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and interact courteously with others.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout a shift on concrete, tile, carpet, and other surfaces; climb stairs and navigate multi-floor facilities as needed.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds unassisted, and up to 35 pounds infrequently.
• Ability to maneuver loaded janitorial carts, trash receptacles, and supply carts weighing up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds infrequently.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and reach overhead up to 8 feet using a step stool or ladder; repeatedly twist and extend the arms and shoulders while cleaning.
• Ability to repeatedly grip, squeeze, and manipulate cleaning tools, spray bottles, brooms, mops, and equipment controls; manual dexterity to operate floor buffers, auto scrubbers, wet/dry vacuums, and steam cleaners.
• Ability to identify areas requiring cleaning, inspect surfaces for soil and residue, and read product labels and safety data sheets (SDS).
• Ability to distinguish colors sufficiently to sort waste streams and identify chemical products.
• Ability to tolerate varying temperatures, outdoor areas, high-humidity areas, cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and allergens while following PPE and safety protocols.
• Ability to maintain consistent physical output throughout the shift with standard rest breaks.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of janitorial or cleaning experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and wipe down desks, tables, counters, and other surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
• Restock restroom essentials such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels; fill dispensers and monitor facility supplies.
• Identify safety hazards and report them to the supervisor.
• Help maintain a secure and safe environment for building occupants.
• Provide courteous, helpful assistance to staff, visitors, and fellow team members.
