Custodian - Weekend Nights
About The Position
Verde Clean is seeking a Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility. The role includes cleaning and disinfecting floors, surfaces, and restrooms; restocking supplies; identifying and reporting safety hazards; and assisting staff, visitors, and team members courteously. The position is scheduled Friday through Sunday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and pays $16.50 per hour. Verde Clean is a minority-owned, eco-friendly facilities services company founded in 2019. The work involves continuous standing, walking, and movement across varied surfaces, as well as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive use of cleaning tools. The employee may work in outdoor, hot, humid, and otherwise variable conditions and may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and allergens. Safety procedures, PPE, and hydration guidelines must be followed. Daily stretch-and-flex sessions are part of the company's injury-prevention practices. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to use cleaning equipment and knowledge of safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and interact courteously with others.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and a team player.
- Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including continuous movement throughout a shift; frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; and repeated bending, reaching, and use of cleaning tools.
- Ability to work safely in varying temperatures and conditions, tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and allergens, and follow PPE and safety protocols.
- Ability to read product labels and safety data sheets, identify areas requiring cleaning and inspect surfaces, and distinguish colors sufficiently to sort waste streams and identify chemical products.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of janitorial or cleaning experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and wipe desks, tables, counters, and other surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Restock restroom essentials such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels; fill dispensers and monitor facility supplies.
- Identify safety hazards and report them to the supervisor.
- Help maintain a secure and safe environment for building occupants.
- Provide courteous, helpful assistance to staff, visitors, and fellow team members.
