Weekend Custodian
About The Position
Campus Services Group (CSG) is hiring a School Custodian to maintain a clean and safe environment within its facilities. The custodian works around staff and students to help ensure the school meets high cleanliness standards. The role is located at 586 River Ave, Bronx, NY, and is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The offered pay rate is $18.00–$19.00 per hour; rates are determined based on qualifications, experience, education, and facility needs and requirements. The position involves performing janitorial and cleaning duties in assigned areas, using protective gear, sanitizing school spaces, and following safety and infection-control procedures. The employee should be able to complete routine work reliably and independently after training. A criminal background check is required, and COVID-19 vaccination policies must be followed where applicable. Requirements
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Willingness to perform routine tasks consistently.
- Ability to complete all responsibilities without supervision after training.
- Punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for 6–8 hours daily.
- Ability to lift and carry, and push and pull, up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies where required by state, local, or customer requirements.
- Must provide a criminal background check.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a school setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform janitorial and cleaning tasks in assigned areas in accordance with quality standards and safety guidelines.
- Use protective gear during cleaning functions.
- Complete cleaning assignments on schedule.
- Report equipment and cleaning-product needs or malfunctions to supervisors.
- Dust mop and damp mop floors in classrooms, common spaces, and other areas.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, classrooms, and common areas.
- Remove trash, empty wastebaskets, and perform related assigned duties.
- Respond promptly to paging-system alerts and customer requests.
- Follow infection-control procedures and universal precautions to maintain a sanitary environment.
