About The Position

Gordon Truck Centers, Inc. (GTC) is hiring a full-time Human Resources & Safety Coordinator at the Pacific, WA Corporate Location. The Human Resources & Safety Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for the Human Resources and Safety functions. The HR & Safety Coordinator will support a culture that emphasizes quality, productivity and the ongoing development and recruitment of a superior workforce. This role assists with employee lifecycle activities, benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, policy administration, workers' compensation, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and delivering exceptional customer service to employees and managers. Successful candidates will have aspiration to learn and grown into a Human Resources Generalist role and must be committed to professionalism and confidentiality. Requirements

  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, Safety, or a related administrative role.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Excellent research, writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, handle demanding time constraints and provide timely input with great attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Safety, or related field, or certification preferred, but not required.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Six plus month’s experience in dealership or transportation level field preferred, but not required.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, or safety programs preferred.
  • Specialized training in employment law, employee relations, training, or project management preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee paperwork.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality while fully utilizing the software to GTC’s advantage.
  • Assist with recruiting activities including posting positions, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and extending job offers.
  • Assist with leave administration, including FMLA, state leave programs, and ADA accommodation tracking.
  • Prepare employment verification requests, personnel changes, and other HR documentation.
  • Track employee training, certifications, and required compliance programs.
  • Assist with performance review administration and employee recognition initiatives.
  • Support policy communication and employee engagement activities.
  • Respond to routine employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
  • Assist with payroll-related documentation and coordination with Payroll as needed.
  • Generate HR reports and maintain accurate employment records.
  • Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Human Resources and Director of Safety.
  • Assist in administering the company's safety program across multiple locations.
  • Coordinate ongoing employee safety training.
  • Assist in maintaining OSHA logs, safety records, incident reports, and required documentation.
  • Assist with workplace accident investigations and corrective action tracking.
  • Assist in coordination of workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes.
  • Monitor completion of required safety inspections and audits.
  • Assist with maintaining OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory compliance requirements as applicable.
  • Track required safety certifications and training renewals.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and prepare meeting documentation.
  • Help develop safety communications and awareness campaigns.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information.
  • Build positive working relationships with employees and management.
  • Recommend improvements to HR and safety processes.
  • Stay current on employment laws and workplace safety regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
