About The Position

Requirements

• A four-year college degree, preferably in Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five to ten years of progressively responsible Finance or Accounting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and GAAP; hospitality accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong financial acumen, including financial-statement preparation, analysis, reconciliation, and interpretation.
• Experience leading accounting operations and developing Finance or Accounting professionals.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments and levels of leadership.
• A hands-on, team-oriented leadership style and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with Office 365 and accounting and payroll systems.
• Sound judgment, high ethical standards, and the ability to protect confidential information.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced resort environment and remain flexible regarding schedules, weekends, and holidays.
• The ability to move throughout a large resort and meet the physical requirements of the position, with reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals.

Nice To Haves

• Hospitality accounting experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly and annual financial statements, oversee the general ledger and closing processes, reconcile balance-sheet accounts, and provide meaningful variance analysis.
• Direct the day-to-day work of accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, night audit, payroll, and management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls; review journal entries and support internal and external audits.
• Oversee payroll processing for more than 1,000 associates, ensuring accuracy, compliance, timely payment, and proper maintenance of payroll records.
• Manage, train, mentor, and develop Finance and Accounting associates while creating a collaborative, hands-on working environment.
• Work closely with department leaders, resort management, the Director of Finance, and corporate leadership to support operations and organizational goals.
• Evaluate recurring accounting procedures, identify control and efficiency opportunities, and implement scalable process and system improvements.
• Participate in Daily Promise meetings, department meetings, resort events, and special projects as assigned.
