Micro Inspection Product Controller

Mini-Circuits•Deer Park, NY

About The Position

Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures, and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and subsystems for high-performance RF and microwave applications. The Electronics Micro Inspector ensures the quality, integrity, and conformance of HFM products and materials by inspecting integrated circuit assemblies, semiconductor wafers, and IC dies with precision microscopy. The role follows IPC-610 and MIL-STD-883 inspection standards and AS9100/ISO9001/ISO14001 quality protocols, and works with micro-assembly, Engineering, and MPE teams to identify and disposition nonconforming products and support rework. Additional work includes laser cutting manufacturing materials, processing AS/400 transactions, and supporting final-stock operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in electronic component, semiconductor, or wireless manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of procedures for handling sensitive electronic components.
  • Knowledge of procedures for working in low-particle-count environments, such as cleanrooms or under laminar-flow hoods.
  • Knowledge of inspection criteria for microelectronic assemblies and components, including MIL-STD-883 and acceptance criteria for die attach, wire/ribbon bonding, and MMIC chip-outs.
  • Knowledge of inspection criteria for miniature solder assemblies, including IPC/J-STD.
  • Ability to inspect against detailed assembly drawings.
  • Comfort operating under a microscope for a large portion of the day.

  • Perform high-magnification inspections, capture photographic evidence, and conduct elemental material analysis.
  • Work with micro-assembly personnel to remedy defects and advise on rework.
  • Disposition nonconforming in-process products and coordinate activities with Engineering and MPE teams.
  • Pack final-stock materials after final inspection.
  • Follow and enforce AS9100, ISO9001, and ISO14001 protocols and processes.
