Central Sterile Technician Jobs

A Central Sterile Technician I prepares, sterilizes, installs, assembles, and cleans laboratory or healthcare equipment used for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. The role ensures equipment, instruments, and supplies can be safely reused to help prevent infections. The technician performs Central Sterile duties independently, including processing surgical instruments and emergency and floor trays; decontamination; wrapping and packaging; sterilization; sterile storage and supplies; case carts and procedure carts; and SPM-related work. The technician also assists with training new staff and works in any department area as required, floating to other Central Sterile departments as needed. The position requires manual dexterity and the ability to adjust to changes in procedures, work requirements, scheduling, and personnel, including functioning in high-stress situations. The posting also describes qualifications and duties for higher Central Sterile Technician levels, including advanced specialties, staff oversight, and service-line liaison work.
