160 Driving Academy•Orlando, FL
•$28 - $30•Onsite

About The Position

160 Driving Academy is hiring an experienced Class A driver to teach students the skills needed to pass their CDL exam. The instructor provides hands-on training in an outdoor yard and on the road, using automatic and manual transmissions, and works at a designated yard with other instructors and a Lead Instructor. Occasional coverage at nearby regional yards may be required; travel may involve an overnight hotel stay, with per diem and mileage paid as applicable. The role includes preparing students for pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, on-road driving, and CDL testing; monitoring and documenting student progress; and reporting incidents and accidents promptly. Instructors follow the defined curriculum and work collaboratively to provide a consistent, student-focused experience. They also help maintain a clean, presentable yard and building, and may assist with transferring trucks to repair operations or nearby yards. A 90-day probationary period applies to ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and curriculum requirements. Most yards operate Monday through Friday, either 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Some higher-volume yards operate seven days a week for ten hours a day and may offer alternative shifts, including some four-day work weeks. Reliable, punctual attendance is essential. The job requires climbing in and out of a tractor cab, sitting and standing for extended periods, and demonstrating driving maneuvers. Additional role-specific requirements may apply.
