About The Position

SAGE is seeking a CDL Instructor to train students in comprehensive, basic, advanced, and specialized tractor-trailer driving. Instructors communicate instructions, assess student performance, and guide students as they practice maneuvers on a skills driving range and in a truck on public roads. Training shifts range from 4 to 12 hours. No teaching experience is required. The role offers the opportunity to use CDL driving experience to train others while being home at night.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL license.
• Minimum of two years of practical trucking-related experience demonstrating instructional competency.
• A safe CDL A driving record as determined by the SAGE Safety Department.
• Knowledge of safe truck-driving principles and practices, and of laws and regulations covering interstate tractor-trailer operations.
• Ability to demonstrate SAGE curriculum subject matter and skills that exceed the abilities identified in the curriculum objectives.
• Professionalism, respect, motivation, maturity, and a safety-oriented attitude.
• Meet applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations minimum qualifications for interstate tractor-trailer drivers, including the physical and driver qualification standards of Part 391.
• Ability to pass a D.O.T. drug/alcohol screen.
