About The Position
The Carpenter performs necessary carpentry duties to maintain facilities in good repair and appearance.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 3-5 years of carpentry experience required
Responsibilities
- Perform the carpentry duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork and equipment such as bins, counters, benches, partitions, and doors
- Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments
- Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work
- Select materials necessary for the work
- Paint walls, woodwork, and fixtures
- Identify surface peculiarities and determine the types of paint required for different applications
- Prepare surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes
- Mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency
- Use spray gun and/or brush to apply paint
