About The Position

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of progressive civil engineering or technician experience, preferably involving municipal or public infrastructure projects.
• Experience with the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles related to roadway, utility, stormwater, sanitary sewer, and/or water infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with municipal staff.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working within a consulting engineering environment.
• Experience serving as a municipal CAD technician.
• Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers and technical staff.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other applicable civil engineering or design software.

Responsibilities

• Design municipal infrastructure projects, including roadways and streets, stormwater management and drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems, water distribution systems, utility improvements, sidewalks, trails, and other public infrastructure.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, studies, and construction documents.
• Attend and participate in meetings with municipal staff.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, designers, technicians, and other project team members.
• Coordinate with survey, environmental, construction services, transportation, and other engineering disciplines.
• Maintain familiarity with applicable engineering standards, municipal ordinances, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
• Build trusted relationships with municipal staff and communicate engineering issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deliver technically sound projects on schedule and within budget, anticipate client needs, and proactively identify solutions.
• Contribute to the growth of the firm's municipal engineering practice.
