About The Position

The CAD Technician performs a range of functions in the design of Ideal products, including preparing manufacturing drawings and updating or revising existing drawings to reflect design changes. This full-time position is based in Mansfield, Ohio, and works closely with and reports to the Senior Design Manager. The role prepares 2D CAD manufacturing drawings from provided 3D models, maintains drawing accuracy and consistency with company standards, and processes engineering change notices. The position generally operates in a professional office environment and requires at least 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. The position requires access to technology or technical data subject to U.S. export control laws. The successful candidate must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR, or be able to obtain appropriate U.S. government authorization to access the relevant technology or data.

Requirements

Minimum 1–2 years of CAD drafting experience.
Proficiency in 3D modeling software, primarily SolidWorks, or another comparable 3D CAD program.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR, or be able to obtain appropriate U.S. government authorization to access controlled technology or technical data.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Prepare 2D CAD manufacturing drawings from provided 3D models.
Update and revise existing CAD drawings to reflect design changes.
Maintain drawing accuracy, clarity, and consistency in accordance with company standards.
Deliver drafting assignments on time and within project timelines.
Process engineering change notices.
Represent the company professionally and ethically, and interact respectfully with customers, suppliers, and coworkers.
Complete assigned work in compliance with policies, procedures, deadlines, and applicable safety and quality standards.
Maintain accurate records of work performed when required.
Work independently and collaboratively, communicating and coordinating with employees and other organizations as needed.
Provide customer service and customer-facing support.
