About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse working 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM in an acute care behavioral health environment. The RN will provide psychiatric nursing care to patients experiencing mental health conditions requiring hospitalization and stabilization. The role involves managing therapeutic environments, supporting patient safety, and assisting with treatment plans designed to improve mental health outcomes. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, administering medications, and maintaining structured therapeutic care within the behavioral health unit. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care. The role requires strong behavioral health nursing skills, the ability to manage complex patient behaviors, and effective communication to maintain a safe and supportive treatment environment.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Ohio or a Compact license valid for practice in Ohio at the time of submission.
  • Minimum of 18 months of recent behavioral health nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • At least 18 months of permanent nursing experience in a short-term acute care hospital prior to traveling.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience with behavioral health practices such as milieu management, medication administration, patient assessment, and clinical documentation.
  • Provide recent professional references from nursing leadership such as a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty area.
