About The Position
The Inpatient Behavioral Health Registered Nurse works on Saint Mary’s Hospital’s Behavioral Health Team, providing compassionate, respectful, and stigma-free care to patients with behavioral health conditions and their families. The role supports recovery and empowerment, contributes feedback to help the multidisciplinary team tailor individual treatment goals, and promotes patient safety and satisfaction through observation, milieu management, and communication about emergent needs.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college or university-affiliated nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in Connecticut.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates preferred.
- Behavioral or psychiatric experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Educate and support patients and their families during behavioral health admission.
- Provide nursing support that empowers patients and families in recovery from behavioral health conditions.
- Provide meaningful feedback to the multidisciplinary team to help tailor treatment goals to individual needs.
- Lead patient observations and milieu management to support safety and patient satisfaction.
- Communicate and address patients’ emergent needs.
