Inpatient Behavioral Health Registered Nurse RN
About The Position
The Inpatient Behavioral Health Registered Nurse works on the Behavioral Health Team at Saint Mary’s Hospital, providing compassionate, dignified, and respectful care to patients with behavioral health conditions and their families in an inclusive, stigma-free environment. The role supports patients and families through education and assistance during behavioral health admission, and contributes meaningful feedback to the multidisciplinary team to help tailor treatment goals to individual needs. The nurse supports patient safety and satisfaction by leading patient observations, managing the milieu, and communicating and addressing emergent needs. This is a part-time position for 24 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift, with weekend and holiday work required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Connecticut.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduate.
- Behavioral or psychiatric experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing support to patients and their families to promote recovery, change, and empowerment.
