About The Position
Bristol Health is hiring a per diem Registered Nurse for Barnes Behavioral Health at Bristol Hospital’s main campus in Bristol, Connecticut. The position requires a current Connecticut RN license and at least one year of clinical nursing experience in an acute or subacute care environment. The nurse must complete general orientation, annual fire, safety, and infection-control education, required CPR training, and unit-based competency requirements. The work environment includes regular exposure to patient elements and occasional stress.
Requirements
- BSN or associate degree.
- Current Connecticut RN license in good standing.
- At least one year of clinical nursing experience in an acute or subacute care environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS, and PALS.
- Complete general orientation at time of hire.
- Complete annual fire, safety, and infection-control education.
- Hold Health Care Provider CPR with BLS from the American Heart Association.
- Successfully complete all training programs determined by the Education & HRD department.
- Successfully complete the unit-based competency package and unit-specific requirements.
- Strong team skills.
- Meet the physical requirements of the role, including repeatedly lifting more than 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Vision and hearing acuity correctable to normal, an acute sense of smell for normal perception, and ability to verbalize so that the average person can comprehend.
