About The Position
Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in the Stockton Campus University Library. This is an excellent opportunity to develop valuable customer service, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills while contributing to a welcoming and student-centered library environment. The Student Assistant plays an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for students, faculty, staff, and other library patrons. The position also supports the Library’s day-to-day operations and may provide opportunities to participate in outreach activities across the Stockton Campus.
Requirements
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
- Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
- Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
- Demonstrates the capacity to work well independently and with others.
- Demonstrates the capacity to be responsible and report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Demonstrates the ability to use computer; type; alphabetize; take/follow directions from a supervisor.
- Demonstrates the ability to interact with library users.
- Excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining the Library’s social media accounts
- Schedule weekly posts on Library Instagram, TikTok and Twitter accounts.
- Develop and contribute to marketing and outreach projects, including creating graphics, writing posts and appropriate audience engagement.
- Design informational and event flyers for upcoming workshops and/or marketing events occurring virtually and/or onsite.
- Run social media analytics.
- Assist with outreach events/preparation as needed.
- Help design library merchandise.
- Promote library resources and services to students.
- Perform all other duties or projects as assigned.
