About The Position

Baptist Medical Center is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Acute Care Rehab team in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time position located at Baptist Medical Center (Downtown). The hiring team expects that this position will maintain a Day shift schedule. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will support the Rehab Services team by working with a multidisciplinary team in an acute care setting. Caseload includes various diagnoses - neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and general medical. The ideal candidate would have experience in an acute care setting. Requirements

  • Associate degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant from FL Department of Health
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

  • Experience in an acute care setting

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist, provides occupational therapy services to patients in order to help improve or restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability.
  • Participates in departmental operations and in performance improvement activities.
  • Responsible for remaining within budget guidelines.
  • Participate in mandatory education and licensure requirements.
