About The Position

Requirements

• Must pre-qualify by attaching one documentation [A, B, C, or D item] from the following list: [A] Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam - testing date must be April 2005 to current. No other school districts proficiency exam accepted. OR [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) OR [C] OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units) OR [D] Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).
• If your degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, YOU MUST have coursework evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university.
• In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with groups of children.
• Experience working with impaired children or adults highly desirable.
• Coursework in child development highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support severe/emotionally disturbed students.
• Work with students who have a Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs.
• Assist students designated as an emotionally disturbed (ED) class or an autism class.
• Assist individual students assigned to a Behaviorist.
