Anticipated Algebra I Boot Camp - Summer 2026

About The Position
This is an anticipated Algebra I Boot Camp position for Summer 2026, contingent upon budget approval. The role involves teaching key Algebra I skills to students who will be enrolled in Geometry or Algebra II in the upcoming academic year. The boot camp will consist of up to three one-week sessions, conducted online, with each session running from Monday to Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Each online session will accommodate up to 25 students, with a minimum of 15 students per session.
Requirements
- Certified to teach Algebra I.
Responsibilities
- Submit a plan to the Assistant Superintendent for Learning detailing the key skills to be reviewed.
- Take daily attendance and notify parents/guardians of student absences.
- Plan and review key Algebra I skills for students entering Algebra I in 2026-2027.
- Communicate reviewed skills to students and parents/guardians.
- Prepare for online sessions.
- Revise and enhance existing materials.
- Teach and interact with students online.
- Provide students with extension activities.
- Create a mechanism (e.g., Google Classroom) for sharing information with students.
- Provide Dr. Chen with feedback and student progress reports.
Benefits
- Salary of $1,500 per week (up to 37.5 hours per week).
- $40 per hour per BEA Contract.
