About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing to begin Fall 2026. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution located in Laredo, Texas, dedicated to advancing knowledge through research, teaching, learning, community engagement, and public service with a focus on student success and research excellence. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month academic faculty appointment. The primary responsibilities include teaching assigned nursing courses, supervising student clinical experiences, evaluating student progress, managing administrative aspects of courses, advising students, and participating in curriculum development and evaluation. Additionally, the role involves serving on college and university committees and providing service to the community and profession. This position requires regular on-campus presence and face-to-face interactions.

Requirements

  • Earned master's degree in nursing
  • Two or more years of clinical nursing experience
  • Current unrestricted/unencumbered license to practice registered nursing within the state of Texas
  • Advanced practice nurses must meet and have all certification required for the specialty
  • One or more years of teaching experience in higher education (encouraged)

  • Earned doctorate in nursing from an accredited university
  • ABDs will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Teaching assigned nursing courses
  • Supervising student clinical experiences
