About The Position

Whitworth University's School of Health Sciences is hiring two full-time, nine-month nursing faculty members at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor. The faculty will help launch and shape the university's prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, which will welcome its inaugural cohort in fall 2027. Whitworth prefers one appointment to bring substantial nursing education experience; the second appointment is open to candidates at any rank. Rank will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and the university's faculty appointment standards. Faculty will teach general nursing and medical-surgical nursing content in classroom, skills and simulation laboratory, and clinical settings. They will mentor students in clinical judgment and professional nursing identity and collaborate with program leadership to develop curriculum, strengthen clinical partnerships, integrate simulation-based learning, and establish a culture of teaching excellence. The program is grounded in Whitworth's Christian mission, and faculty are expected to contribute to a community where faith, learning, and professional practice intersect. The position is based on Whitworth's residential campus and requires consistent in-person engagement. Successful candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout employment; visa sponsorship is not offered. A background check, sexual misconduct check, proof of work eligibility, and confirmation of degrees earned are required.
