About The Position
An Assembler II performs general assembly operations in the RDI and/or Door departments, supporting the assembly of walk-in cooler and freezer components, including Air Shield assemblies. The role follows established procedures to meet quality, safety, and productivity standards and reports directly to the Production Supervisor. The position is based in Parsons, Tennessee. The assembler builds components according to work instructions, job orders, and engineering drawings; inspects completed work; operates hand and basic pneumatic or electric power tools; handles materials and assemblies; and maintains required production documentation and departmental housekeeping standards. The position follows the Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and Welbilt Code of Conduct, and participates in safety training. Duties and assignments may change or be added to support business operations.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of manufacturing and/or construction experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tape measures.
- Ability to perform basic math and demonstrate reading comprehension.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete for a full shift and work in temperatures above 95°F.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds alone and lift more than 50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to handle tools safely and inspect finished products.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities
- Assemble walk-in cooler and freezer components in the RDI or Door department according to work instructions, job orders, and engineering drawings.
- Perform general assembly tasks, including panel-related assemblies, door components, hardware installation, and Air Shield assembly.
- Read and interpret job orders, diagrams, and blueprints to select, position, and assemble materials and accessory components.
- Inspect assembled components for conformity with quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements.
- Operate hand tools and basic pneumatic or electric power tools for assembly tasks.
- Load, unload, lift, and move materials and assemblies, using appropriate lifting equipment when available.
- Complete and maintain required electronic and/or manual production documentation, including checklists, stamps, barcodes, and related paperwork.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Perform duties in accordance with the Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and Welbilt Code of Conduct.
- Participate in safety training and promptly resolve or escalate safety concerns.
- Take on additional tasks as needed to support business operations.
