About The Position
The Department of Writing Arts is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach courses in first-year writing and potentially technical and professional writing. More information about the first-year writing program and the Writing Arts major can be found on the department website.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Composition/Rhetoric or a related field (e.g., English, Creative Writing, Literacy Studies, Urban Education).
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Candidates must not require visa sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience teaching college writing or professional writing.
- Favorable recommendations from references.
- Favorable previous student evaluations.
- Language fluency (oral) in Spanish.
- Experience working with developmental writers.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in first-year writing.
- Potentially teach courses in technical and professional writing.
Benefits
- Minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught.
- Maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year.
