About the position
The Business Development Manager is a key fundraiser on the Business Development team at DonorsChoose. They will be responsible for contributing to the revenue goal by fundraising from a portfolio of partners, writing compelling emails, preparing for partner meetings, and learning to run calls with prospective partners. The Manager will also play a role in addressing racial inequity in education through partnerships and will be a core contributor to the team. The compensation for this role ranges from $66,000 to $77,000, with higher ranges for specific locations.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the revenue goal by fundraising from a portfolio of partners
- Write and compile compelling emails and prepare for partner meetings
- Learn to run calls with prospective partners looking to support schools at the $25K-$250K levels
- Learn and iterate on benefits parameters and partnership options, and leverage data to craft impactful pitches at different giving levels
- Smoothly transition won accounts to another team for execution and renewal
- Work with a sales coach to learn concepts like discovery, BANT, and consultative sales
- Be a core contributor to a small-but-mighty team
- Share sales and partnership strategies, support teammates when needed, and identify other opportunities to contribute to the team and organizational culture
- Play a key role in addressing racial inequity in education through partnerships
Requirements
- Committed to the mission of supporting public school teachers and students
- Knowledgeable and passionate about racial equity
- At least three years of experience in direct fundraising, business development, or sales
- Curious and asks great questions
- Efficient and organized
- Skilled at winning others over and finding opportunities for success
- Team player
- Compensation range: $66,000 - $77,000 (higher range for specific locations)
