About The Position

Requirements

• No tutoring experience required.
• Enrolled in a degree-seeking program at Liberty University.
• Have Federal Work Study eligibility.
• Have 7 to 20 hours of work availability per week.
• Must pass various background checks, including, but not limited to, a check at the time of initial employment and subsequent checks on behalf of the Federal Work Study Community Service Project site as well as Liberty University.
• Failure to pass a background check will result in immediate termination.
• Individual must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan.
• Individual must not be convicted of, or pled nolo contendere or guilty to, a crime involving the acquisition, use, or expenditure of federal, state, or local government funds, -or- be administratively or judicially determined to have committed fraud or any other material violation of law involving federal, state, or local government funds (CFR 668.14(b)(18)(i)).

Nice To Haves

• At least a second-year student at Liberty University preferred.
• Must be in good standing (no reprimands or suspensions).
• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Work virtually with students in 2nd-6th grade for 45-minute sessions, a minimum of twice a week.
• Tutor/Mentor a minimum of 3 students.
• Focus on building fundamental math and literacy skills using evidence-based online programs.
• Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
• Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
