About The Position

Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to join our Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) project in Honolulu, HI. Tutor Perini Corporation is a family of civil construction companies that has supported the development and maintenance of infrastructure across the nation for over a century. They construct and rehabilitate highways, bridges, tunnels, mass-transit systems, and water management and wastewater treatment facilities. Tutor Perini is the general contractor for the HART City Center Guideway and Stations project, which involves the design and construction of six rail stations and approximately three miles of elevated rail guideway. Project design is expected to begin immediately, while construction is estimated to commence in the second half of 2025 and be substantially completed in 2030.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar.
  • 5 or more years of experience in support of design-build or heavy civil construction testing, inspection, supervision or management in support of large public works projects.
  • 5 or more years of quality control, inspection experience one or more of the project disciplines, to include Concrete, piling, rebar, structural, earthwork, electrical, etc.
  • Strong understanding and experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control and/or assurance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (preferred).
  • ACI or other industry related certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for quality control inspections and testing for assigned disciplines (Concrete, piling, rebar, structural, earthwork, electrical, etc.).
  • Inspect to contract specifications the assigned discipline.
  • Develop understanding/working knowledge of company quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc. required to perform assigned work.
  • Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work.
  • Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related items; assure correctness of all documents.
  • Preparation/implementation of quality control procedures, i.e., inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment, etc.
  • Coordinating quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules.
  • Participate in internal/external quality control audits.
  • Assist in reviewing purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
