About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an approved 4-year substation apprentice or Relay Testing Apprentice program with certification.
• 1 year of working in a substation environment with experience in project management, construction, operations, testing, and maintaining substation equipment including protective relaying and SCADA equipment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of a driving record and background check.

Nice To Haves

• 3 years of experience in a substation environment.
• Additional college, vocational, or industry courses in electrical/electronic theory, lab work, associated mathematics, and communication systems.
• Associate's degree in Electric or Electronic Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic, electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical equipment and systems in a substation environment.
• Working on protective relaying, substation control systems, SCADA, power transformers, metal-clad switchgear, and other substation-related equipment.
• Supporting vendor and contractor coordination.
• Performing reporting, scheduling, inspection, and testing.
• Conducting final commissioning of equipment and systems.
