About The Position
Guidepost Montessori is hiring an Assistant Guide for its Mill Valley school. The role supports a mixed-age Montessori classroom serving infants, toddlers, and children ages 3–6. The Assistant Guide helps create a calm, engaging environment where children can explore, learn, and develop at their own pace. Working alongside Lead Guides and other team members, the Assistant Guide prepares intentional learning spaces and supports individualized and small-group activities with respect, patience, and care. The position contributes to children’s independence, confidence, and love of learning while building warm relationships with children and families.
Requirements
- Experience working with children ages 3–6 in a school or childcare setting.
- A positive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
- A genuine love for working with young children.
- Interest in learning and growing within the Montessori approach.
Nice To Haves
- Prior Montessori experience.
Responsibilities
- Observe children closely to understand and support their individual needs.
- Help prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly classroom environment.
- Support individual and small-group learning activities.
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children and families.
- Collaborate with Lead Guides and fellow team members to create a strong classroom community.
