About The Position

The Department of Chemistry & Biomolecular Sciences of the University of Ottawa invites applications to fill one replacement professor position in Chemistry & Biomolecular Sciences, to begin July 1, 2026. The functions of a member of the academic staff include, in varying proportions: teaching activities (six courses per year) and academic service activities. The candidate will be expected to teach in both official languages. A 2-year contract, renewable – new position. Requirements

  • Ph.D. Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline.
  • proven track record in teaching at the undergraduate level (in chemistry & biomolecular sciences), in both official languages.
  • Interested candidates should submit a package including: A curriculum vitae Teaching statement Contact details of two referees who would provide a letter of recommendation for the selected candidate.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional background in Chemistry and Biomolecular sciences is an asset.
  • Research experience in academia and/or industry will be an asset.
  • Experience in supervising undergraduate students will be an asset.
  • The ability of the candidate to teach chemistry & biomolecular sciences at the graduate level will be an asset.
  • The ability of the candidate to participate in at least one of the established research groups will be viewed as an asset.
  • The ability of the candidate to build inclusive courses designed for learning will be an asset.
