About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production team and ensuring operational efficiency. This role champions safety and quality, drives key operational metrics, and manages Work-In-Progress (WIP). The supervisor will communicate effectively across functional teams, maintain material stocks, and ensure proper maintenance of production equipment. A strong shop floor presence, strategic problem-solving skills, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements are essential. The role also involves personnel management, including training, coaching, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • Associate degree/bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 4+ years experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Repair station and new manufacturing experience.
  • A&P license or previous repairmen certificate holder, can meet repairmen qualifications under 14 CFR Part 65.
  • Experience, direct or indirect, with aircraft component processes: machining, welding, vacuum and coating furnace, inspection, thermal spray, chemical strip, brazing, plating.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement, 5S, Kaizen methodologies.
  • Experience in execution, management, and delivery of KPIs.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint (intermediate/advanced required).
  • Ability to navigate through multiple (ERP) platforms to obtain data.
  • Ability to support & collaborate with functional teams - HR, Safety, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Procurement, Maintenance and Customer Service.
  • Strategic problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership, integrity, and accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, comprehension) (FAA Requirement).

Responsibilities

  • Champion perfect safety and perfect quality.
  • Drive operational metrics: turn time, on time delivery, past dues, productivity.
  • Measure and report daily and weekly production performance data.
  • Manage WIP and collaborate with the planning department to drive the monthly financial plan, assist in date management, and level loading production.
  • Utilize T1, T2 boards for clear and concise communication across all functional teams, identifying actions to improve performance deficiencies in each operational metric.
  • Maintain stocks of materials and consumables, and communicate/escalate shortages or out-of-stock items.
  • Ensure clear cross-shift communication regarding shift deliverables, maintenance, and equipment status.
  • Submit maintenance work orders and ensure all production equipment is maintained and serviced appropriately.
  • Own and drive the 5S process, showing daily progress and conducting monthly audits to ensure a standardized work environment.
  • Maintain shop floor presence, situational awareness, and demonstrate self-motivation, strategic problem-solving, and collaboration with functional teams.
  • Be on time and prepared for all scheduled meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, and live the Chromalloy Values.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including the repair station manual, quality systems manuals, and department procedures.
  • Ensure the production team is properly trained and adequately staffed with FAA repairmen.
  • Achieve and maintain department training at 95% or greater.
  • Facilitate continual development of the production team by completing Tooling U and LinkedIn training courses.
  • Provide supportive management to each team member, coaching, developing, motivating, and problem-solving.
  • Ensure compliance with operation time standards, adjusting standards when necessary.
  • Allocate resources to achieve deadlines.
  • Complete and present performance reviews on time, including 30-60-90 day, 6-month, and annual reviews, and create development plans to acquire needed skills.
  • Implement disciplinary actions as necessary.
