About The Position

Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Maintain Professional Educator certification in the State of Florida.
• Have or be able to obtain Basic Diocesan Ministry Certification within two years.
• Respect, promote, and accommodate the mission, moral and social teachings, doctrines, and laws of the Roman Catholic faith, without conflict in speech, conduct, or instruction.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Complete a background check and Protecting God’s Children (PGC) class.
• Be proficient in computer technology, including school-related software.
• Be able to assess needs and strategies flexibly and adapt appropriately.
• Consistently demonstrate a positive, friendly, respectful, and caring attitude toward colleagues, the public, and those served.
• Be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for school-related events.
• Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and present information and respond to questions effectively.
• Perform basic arithmetic and compute rates, ratios, and percentages; draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret technical instructions, and work with abstract and concrete variables.
• Meet the position’s physical demands, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

Nice To Haves

• Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church and a registered member of a Catholic parish faith community is preferred; this may be required for some teaching positions, as determined by the school principal.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and support the school’s Catholic mission by speaking, acting, and instructing consistently with Roman Catholic Church teachings.
• Collaborate with the principal to build the faith community and demonstrate lived Gospel values through personal example and participation in a faith community.
• Maintain physical and informational security and respect confidentiality and privacy.
• Work collaboratively in a positive, friendly, and professional manner.
• Adhere to diocesan and school policies and regulations while supporting the school’s spiritual, pastoral, and educational mission.
• Prepare lesson plans to implement and achieve school-adopted academic goals and objectives.
• Integrate the Catholic religious curriculum as articulated by the school.
• Participate in and help plan school religious and service-related activities.
• Communicate knowledge and competency in academic and religious curricula; organize learning materials to use time effectively and engage and motivate students.
• Establish consistent classroom management that promotes self-direction and a positive self-image; set high behavior standards and manage inappropriate behavior according to school policy.
• Participate in continuous professional development as a lifelong learner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
