About The Position
West Woods Upper Elementary School is seeking a Permanent Building Substitute for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in obtaining a teaching certification or supporting their local district. The position offers direct experience working in the classroom as a teacher or paraprofessional. The role will primarily support the Upper Elementary School (Grades 5-6) and may occasionally assist the Elementary Schools (K-4) if needed. The daily pay rate for a Permanent Building Substitute is $144.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience with school-age students
- Must be fingerprinted within 30 days of hire.

- State of CT Teacher Certification
Responsibilities
- Support the Upper Elementary School (Grades 5-6) as a substitute teacher or paraprofessional.
- Occasionally support the Elementary Schools (K-4) if needed.
- Be available for assignment every day that school is in session.
- Accept daily assignments based on home-school.
