About The Position

Requirements

• Licensed by The State of New York as a Speech Language Pathologist
• A master's degree is required
• One (1) full year of supervised work experience
• Speech Language Pathologist supervisors must have at least three (3) years of clinical experience.
• The Speech Language Pathologist is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and certified by the association.
• Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient's speech and language abilities, both defects and assets, and performs periodic reevaluations.
• Plans and provides rehabilitating services for speech and language disorders.
• Maintains records of patient’s progress and reaction toward treatment daily.
• Instructs and counsels other health team personnel and family members in methods of assisting patients in improving, correcting, and accepting disabilities.
