Evaluate, plan and provide therapeutic intervention as it relates to speech and language deficits in individuals with acquired brain injury. This role involves administering speech and language evaluations, developing speech exercise programs, and consulting with consumers and external services. The Speech Language Pathologist will assist individuals in identifying needs and developing compensation techniques for brain injury consequences, testing and evaluating abilities, and recommending environmental changes. They will also evaluate consumer progress, prepare reports, educate consumers and families, and integrate employment, educational, and independent living goals into therapy. Collaboration with consumers and case managers is key to ensuring goals are met. The role includes training personal care assistants and transitional living specialists, providing services as per the plan of care, and designing adaptive equipment. Maintaining documentation, educating families, attending trainings, and contributing to departmental goals are also essential. Specific duties include timely scheduling of evaluations, assisting with goal setting, providing quarterly summaries to case managers, and adhering to all company policies and procedures. Establishing professional rapport with consumers, colleagues, and external agencies, promoting public relations, and serving on task groups are expected. The position may also involve performing other assigned duties and maintaining company-issued equipment.
