Requirements
- Master's degree in speech-language pathology required.
- NYS SLP license and registration.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to staff members, management peers, hospital administration.
- Prior experience with Modified Barium Swallow study required
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
- Experience with trach/vent population required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital experience preferred
- Prior experience with EPIC preferred
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the planning, administering, and directing speech therapy services cardiac, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, pulmonary and medical-surgical patients
- Educate patient and family members in recommendations for diet modifications
- Work with interdisciplinary team for plan of care
- Knowledge of hospital, Joint Commission, state and federal guidelines
