Evaluate, plan and provide therapeutic intervention as it relates to speech and language deficits in individuals with acquired brain injury. This role involves administering evaluations, developing exercise programs, consulting with consumers and referring them to additional services, and integrating employment, educational, and independent living goals into therapy. The Speech Language Pathologist will also train personal care assistants and transitional living specialists, design adaptive equipment, and maintain documentation. They will educate families about brain injury consequences and communicate about goals and progress. The position requires attending trainings to ensure evidence-based practice and contributing to departmental goals. Initial contact for referrals must be made within 48 hours, with evaluations completed within 7 days. Case managers will receive quarterly summaries related to goal attainment. The role also involves establishing professional rapport with consumers, families, staff, and external agencies, and promoting public relations for the program. The Speech Language Pathologist may serve on agency task groups and perform other assigned duties, including care for company-issued equipment.
