About The Position

Requirements

• Have a reliable mode of transportation to perform the job duties.
• Have a reliable smartphone with internet access and a data plan.
• Be extremely detail-oriented and able to follow detailed instructions.
• Be responsible, reliable, dependable, timely, and punctual.
• Be able to self-manage.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be compassionate about animals and comfortable working with and interacting with both small and large animals.
• Be willing to walk and drive in all weather conditions.
• Commit to at least six months; a longer commitment is preferred.
• Pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Reside in Northern Virginia within five miles of 22301.

Responsibilities

• Enter clients’ homes and visit with their pets for the requested length of time, usually 15–30 minutes.
• Walk pets as requested.
• Feed pets as requested.
• Check that pets have ample, clean water and refill it as necessary.
• For pet-sitting visits, provide primary care for pets while their owners are away.
• For pet-sitting visits, clean litter boxes and/or cages as required.
• Check clients’ homes for accidents or damage caused by pets while owners are away, and clean any discovered mess or damage.
• Communicate with management.
• Work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required by client needs for pet-sitting visits.
