About The Position

This position will be responsible for conducting research, experiments, and analysis in the field of radiochemistry. This role involves radiolabeling of diagnostic and therapeutic radioisotopes of peptides, small molecules, and/or antibodies as well as quality testing for in vitro and in vivo work. The Sr. Associate Scientist will work in laboratory settings, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance scientific knowledge and contribute to the advancement of all RayzeBio’s internal programs.

Requirements

  • BS with 3 years of experience in Radiochemistry or other related scientific work experience or MS with 1+ years of experience in Radiochemistry or other related scientific work experience
  • Proper radiation safety practices during radiosynthesis, radioanalytical chemistry operations, and within the lab areas at all times.
  • Hands on experience with radiometal labeling and analytical methods development in a radiochemistry laboratory setting
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment with evolving priorities
  • Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information

Responsibilities

  • Develop radiochemistry methods using radioisotopes such as Lu-177, Ac-225, Cu-64, and Ga-68 (not all-inclusive) for the preparation of radiolabeled peptides and small molecules.
  • Develop and execute methods for the characterization of radiolabeled compounds, using techniques such as radio-HPLC and radio-TLC chromatography to analyze purity and stability of the radiolabeled compounds
  • Develop methods and recipes and perform regular syntheses of radiotracers on automated synthesis devices
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and troubleshoot
  • Present at meetings to provide timely input to progress the programs forward
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
