About The Position
The School Psychologist will be responsible for conducting psycho-educational evaluations, providing counseling services, consulting with stakeholders, participating in IEP meetings, and maintaining accurate records. This is a regular, full-time position for 205 days per year, reporting to the Director of Special Education.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in School Psychology or Educational Psychology.
- Valid Ohio Department of Education certification/licensure in School Psychology.
- Strong communication (oral and written).
- Active listening and counseling skills.
- Knowledge of evaluation procedures for academic/behavioral problems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and parents.
- Proficiency with district software and office equipment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual psycho-educational evaluations (academic, behavioral, social-emotional).
- Provide counseling (individual and group) for students, including those with disabilities.
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop individualized learning or behavioral plans.
- Participate in IEP meetings and assist in identification/placement of students with special needs.
- Recommend classroom management strategies and positive behavior interventions.
- Provide screening programs and referrals to outside service agencies when needed.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for staff, parents, and agencies.
