About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Alabama or Mulitstate license required.
• BLS required within the orientation period.
• Minimum of two years in Pediatric and/or Oncology patient care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and current healthcare management methodology, preferably within oncology sciences.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
• Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• PALS required within one year of employment.
• Clinical research/APON cert./SoCRA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Offers individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to help overcome healthcare system barriers.
• Uses the nursing process to provide education and resources to facilitate informed decision making and timely access to quality health and psychosocial care.
• Fosters the effective navigation of the healthcare continuum for patients and their families.
