About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate a holistic plan of care for the patient and family. This role involves caring for children dependent on technology such as home ventilators and home dialysis, as well as children dependent on tracheostomies. You will also care for patients with acute and chronic nephrology diseases, new diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, epilepsy, and idiopathic/non-idiopathic scoliosis. This position is 90% FTE, with three 12-hour evening/night shifts including every other weekend and a holiday rotation. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will work at the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
  • PALS within 12 months Required
  • Six (6) months nursing experience in Inpatient Units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric), Venous Access Team (VAT), Radiology, Hemodialysis, Cardiovascular Laboratory or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.
