About The Position

Occupational health nursing is a specialized discipline focused on delivering comprehensive health and safety programs to workers and workplace populations. The practice emphasizes promoting and restoring health, preventing illness and injury, and protecting individuals from work‑related and environmental hazards. This role involves conducting medical history and physical assessments, providing education on health and wellness, maintaining confidentiality, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and responding to medical emergencies.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
  • 1+ years of nursing experience is preferred but not required. May consider new grads w/LPN experience and/or BSN degree.
  • Occupational Health experience is not required. We will train on the job!
  • Basic computer skills and comfort with electronic medical documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to get along with others.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be able to walk unassisted through the plant, quickly respond to medical emergencies, climb stairs, assess team members swiftly.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical history and physical assessments to promote health and prevent illness.
  • Provide education and guidance to team members on communicable diseases and wellness initiatives.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical practice.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure team members’ safety and recovery.
  • Respond quickly to incidents and emergencies to provide first aid and other emergency care, such as CPR, as needed.
  • Perform CPR if required.
  • Ensure team members and supervisors are following prescribed modified restricted duty requirements.
  • Occasionally travel to local clinics or hospitals.
