About The Position

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Cardiac Assessment and Evaluation (CARE) Unit at Baystate Medical Center. This unit provides pre-procedural care and post-procedural moderate sedation/anesthesia observation for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and neurovascular procedures. The unit cares for both outpatient and inpatient populations and includes a dedicated room for Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) procedures. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1, aligned with ASPAN standards. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, requiring strong teamwork and communication. Comprehensive, individualized orientation is provided by experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Current Massachusetts RN license
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Minimum one year of RN experience
  • ADN required
  • Diploma in Nursing

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Critical care or Cath Lab experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-procedural care for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and neurovascular procedures.
  • Provide post-procedural moderate sedation/anesthesia observation for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and neurovascular procedures.
  • Care for both outpatient and inpatient populations before and after procedures.
  • Work collaboratively in scrub, monitor, and circulator roles.
