About The Position

Requirements

• A four-year college degree or five years of equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
• Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Three to five years of experience in Quality Assurance or Obtention.
• Ability to exercise substantial initiative and judgment in work methods and interpretation of goals.
• Ability to work independently with infrequent review and minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of quality systems, measurement, and metrology.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
• Planning and prioritization skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Negotiation skills.
• Ability to present data effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Teamworking skills.
• Relevant manufacturing or engineering degree.

• Experience with the PLEX ERP software system.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in pursuing ISO 9001 certification.
• Manage quality-related issues within the manufacturing team, including internal, supplier, customer, and customer warranty issues.
• Identify root causes and initiate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues.
• Conduct product and process audits.
• Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained.
• Monitor and report quality-related key performance indicators, including scrap, rework, and parts-per-million figures.
• Stop production when unacceptable goods or processes are being manufactured.
• Work with Engineering to develop product layup instructions.
• Assist with quality-awareness training.
• Participate in cross-functional teams developing new products or changes to current products to meet customer requirements.
• Participate in developing and refining Design and Process FMEAs.
• Lead quality audits.
• Drive continuous improvement activities and support and lead process improvement activities.
• Conduct benchmarking studies to identify best practices, designs, and future trends.
• Independently determine approaches and assigned tasks.
• Lead and/or support groups of technicians.
• Support customer visits, including facility tours and demonstrations of quality controls.
• Communicate effectively throughout the shop floor and with company and customer management.
• Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
