This role is based in Columbia, South Carolina, requiring 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. Travel is expected to be 40-70% domestic and international.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in electrical/electronics engineering or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 8+ years of proven experience in Automotive High-Voltage Electrical Systems and High-Voltage Wiring/Harnesses.
  • Expert level proficiency in systems such as TEVON, BeOn, PPA, ISO 26262 / ASPICE and TRL Audits.
  • Exceptional ability to troubleshoot complex issues, debug prototypes, and perform electrical measurements and define rework on high-voltage components.
  • Strong technical writing ability and the assertiveness to explain complex issues in a concise manner to stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Passport required.

Nice To Haves

  • VDA 6.3 Process Auditing Certification preferred
  • Advanced Certifications: Product Auditor for Wiring Harnesses preferred
  • Professional-grade knowledge of AIAG/VDA Core Tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA) preferred.
  • Understanding of applicable Regulatory & Safety requirements (IATF, VDA, ISO, DIN, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain electrical component validation processes, specifically for high-voltage wire harnesses and self-sufficient wiring systems.
  • Oversee supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes using APQP and VDA quality management processes.
  • Execute process and product audits to ensure suppliers meet industrialization and performance expectations.
  • Facilitate technical requirement understanding between Suppliers and Scout’s Purchasing, Quality, and Design teams to ensure total transparency.
  • Lead technical strategies and project teams to resolve complex quality issues, acting as a Task Force Leader for critical technical topics when necessary.
  • Drive supplier improvements in cost, quality, and manufacturability utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Responsible for proactive and reactive containment at suppliers.
  • Responsible for ensuring change management occurs and is identified properly and proactively plan for product architecture requests.
  • Responsible for Supplier PPA’s (according VDA Vol.2) and ongoing activities within the supply chain from development to series production.
  • Support NCR resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
